Cocoa Cravings

Everyone knows that during the wintertime, one of the most appealing, delicious, and satisfying drinks is HOT CHOCOLATE! Snuggling up by the TV, and watching old reruns with a cup of cocoa in your hands makes the moment all the more sweet.  Here are some of my favorite places to get this mouth-watering drink:

City Bakery (3 W. 18th St., near. Fifth Ave.; 212-366-1414)

This hot cocoa is rich, delicious, and made from pure melted chocolate. City Bakery has won numerous awards, and even has a whole festival celebrating this delightful drink. Be sure to try their amazing homemade marshmallows too! http://www.thecitybakery.com/.

La Maison du Chocolat (1018 Madison Ave. • 212-744-7117)

Any “best hot chocolate” list just would not be complete without La Maison du Chocolat’s on it. The hot chocolate is dark, rich and just a tad bitter, but absolutely incredible.

Cocoa Bar (228 Seventh Ave between 3rd and 4th Sts, Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-499-4080, cocoabarnyc.com). 21 Clinton St between E Houston and Stanton streets (212-677-4717)

Cocoa Bar is a cute and comfy modern cafe with all different kinds of interesting flavored cocoas. They cool down the chocolate for kids, and have richer, more complex flavors for adults.

Of course, If you’re looking for a quick cocoa pick-me up, Starbucks Coffee is always sure to satisfy.
